The GAP-tastic cowl is an easy knit you’ll want to make again and again! This fun cowl is a great beginner project for new knitters who want to practice knitting and purling. The GAP-tastic is a classic accessory that you’ll wear all of the time. It makes a great gift, too.

Time: One 2-hour class

Level 2 Angora:  ready to add to your staple skills, have been practicing knitting and purling and ready to read a pattern

Skills you need:

  • Cast on
  • Knit
  • Purl

Skills you’ll learn:

  • Tips for casting on a lot of stitches
  • How to modify a pattern to fit your needs
  • How to join in the round
  • How to read your knit from purl stitches
  • How to work the seed/moss stitch

Materials:

  • 135-306 yds bulky weight (we recommend Manos Del Uruguay’s Franca, Madeline Tosh’s ASAP, or Spincycle’s Knit Fast Die Young)
  • US 15-17 24″ (or needle to match yarn weight)
  • Stitch markers

Carolina Kidwell-Bozeman loves playing with fiber in all forms. There is nothing more satisfying to her than spreading the therapeutic, creative and joyous qualities inherent in knitting. Carolina has been knitting since the age of 9, and picked it back up in college where she benefited from the meditative process of knitting instead of focusing only finishing the project. In her own knitting she embraces playing with color and texture when choosing a pattern.
