Pascuali Manada MohairRegular price $24.00
219 yards, Lace Weight, 45% Mohair, 25% Silk, 15% Wool, 15% Yak
Take the lustrous, long, bright and very high quality hair of the Angora goat; the fine, soft and elastic wool of the merino sheep; the sumptuous wool of the Mongolian yak; add silk and combine it all with Pascuali´s years of experience in developing high-quality natural yarns and you have: Manada.
Pascuali named this very special yarn Manada (which is the Spanish word for “herd”) because it is, after all, a rare blend of fibers from different natural sources. It is a yarn not found anywhere else in the market today!
Because Pascuali has very high standards for where they source their fibres, they've made sure that the merino they use is RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) certified. The standard ensures that wool suppliers use rigorous, ethical and sustainable sourcing practices. It is, therefore, mulesing free and of superfine quality.
This would be great for:
- Park Williams's Phantom Fuzz (there's a short sleeve version too at the pattern link)
- Andrea Mowry's Birds of a Feather
- James Watt's Earth and Air
- Sarah Jo Burch's Brazen cowl, free pattern - you could get by with one skein!
- Espace Tricot's Chevron Cloud (Cadence's new project!)
Pascuali's vision is that rare, luxurious yarns of exceptional quality can be created with a focus on fair-trade, ecological production & care for the animals. Their yarns are created for fiber artists who value high quality, as well as a strong sense of social responsibility. From the fiber itself to the way they package their finished product, sustainability is a key element of Pascuali's philosophy. For example, more than 90% of their shipping is done with DHL GoGreen Service meaning every package is shipping in a CO2-neutral manner. They also contribute to a reforestation program.
