The Jacket is knitted back and forth in Garter stitch, then cleverly folded and completed by weaving the shoulder seams. In this class you can make a baby or toddler size and discuss the custom sizing for anyone. Includes notes on color placement, options for hood, collar, Afterthought Pocket, One-Row buttonhole and more.

Time:  One 2-hour class

Level 3 Alpine: starting to climb, confident in knitting and purling or crochet chains and finished a few projects

Skills you need (these are essential for everyone to have the best class experience):

  • Long tail cast on
  • Confident knitting
  • Reading a pattern
  • Binding off

Skills you will learn:

  • Make 1 with backward loop
  • Slipped stitch edging
  • Simple button holes
  • Single and double decreases
  • How to mark stitches for increases and decreases

Materials:

  • Fingering:
    • 400-500 yards of fingering yarn
    • US 3 or 4 24″ circular needles
  • Worsted (toddler size)
    • 600 yards of worsted yarn
    • US 8 24″ circular needles
  • Buttons (optional)
  • Removable markers
  • Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
  • Row counter.
