meet Emre Koc, president and co-founder of Urth Yarns, a Fuzzy Goat favorite
Emre was born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey. He is a 3rd generation yarn wholesaler; his grandfather started a company in the 1950s, becoming one of Turkey’s most well-known yarn brands. Emre came to the US to attend the University of Virginia. After college, he returned to Turkey and he worked with his mother in her yarn shop, eventually returning to the US to sell garments knit in Turkey to boutiques all over the US. In 2004, he started his own yarn company, and then co-founded Urth Yarns in 2017 with his vision to give back to people and Earth. Urth Yarns plants a tree in Africa for every skein of yarn sold (over 300,000 trees)! Emre takes pride in using the best quality merino with refreshing colors and dyeing techniques at reasonable prices.
