Starting From Scratch

Starting From Scratch

We're at it again šŸ¤” Creating new products with other girl manufacturers!Ā

You might remember that we plotted with graphic designer Ilona Stuijt, who we work with on our Good Vibes Yarn Tour branding, to design some fabric for us. We wanted it to have our colors, a friendly-looking goat, and lots of elements that reflect our Southern home. Ilona included dogwood blossoms, pecans, and peaches.Ā
Ā
AndĀ add inĀ Jenny who guided us to a local-ish fabric printer. Chris and Eric in Panama City, Florida sent us a booklet of fabric options so that we could feel, squish, and hold the outside and the lining together, until we had just what we wanted

There are options out there for storing your needles, but none were precisely what we wanted. They were either too long to be really portable, didn't hold all that many needles and still close, or didn't aim to be portable at all and just weren't pleasing to look at. I had a vintage one that I just loved, that I could fit into a tote without taking up too much room. And since I knew just the fabric that I wanted to use (THREE color options) and had a seamstress on call (our star Jenny!), The Haystack was born šŸ’«!

We decided to name it The Haystack! As in you CAN find a knitting needle in a haystack 😜
Ā
You'll notice that we have mashed together the two words knittingneedle - one of our social media platforms filters out troublesome words and "needle" has hit their list and since that platform also pulls from our website we had to get creative šŸ¤”Ā
Through our local friend Amy, owner of The Hare and the Hart here in Thomasville, we found seamstress Jenny, just down the road in Tallahassee! Jenny's been conferring and scheming on EXACTLY what we want inĀ our sewn projectsĀ sinceĀ last Summer ā˜€ļø

Meanwhile, we plotted with graphic designer Ilona Stuijt, who we work with on our Good Vibes Yarn Tour branding, to design some fabric for us. OH MY! It was such a fun project I was almost sorry when we clicked on the final design.

And then there is Katy of Katrinkles, who is amazing atĀ laser cutting, she and Marianne create so many unique items just for us! Tools we never even knew existed, and they didn't, until they made them for us. They make tools fun!Ā
