On a farm in Baltimore County, Maryland, Jan and Lisa collaborate together to create programs, projects and products for the fiber enthusiast. For decades Shetland Sheep, Bluefaced Leicester (BFL), Teeswaters, Clun Forest, Cormo, Corriedale, Gotland, Romanov, and Leicester Longwool sheep have been raised on the farm, with the main focus on producing quality fleeces. Their favorite locks come from a cross between Teeswater and the BFL, commonly referred to as “BLTees.”
Our shop sample of Andrea Mowry's Nightshift is made in 4 skeins of this yummy yarn.
Urth Yarns is a family owned yarn company, whose yarns are dyed and prepared by skilled hands of women at their studios in Mersin and Istanbul. Aside from the velvety softness of the naturally dyed skeins, we love the whimsical variegated colorways. We also love that we are supporting the Earth as Urth Yarns plants a tree in Africa for every skein sold.
