Poppy Monk Needlepoint PopUp
We just love Poppy Monk's philosophy, it's just like ours! "What began as a hobby has grown into a creative community. Poppy Monk isn’t just about needlepoint, it’s about slowing down, making something by hand, and connecting with others through a shared love of craft." Based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Over 90 needlepoint canvases. Just 3 of each. Three weeks only. Poppy Monk is a North Carolina maker with a philosophy that feels like home: "What began as a hobby has grown into a creative community. Poppy Monk isn't just about needlepoint — it's about slowing down, making something by hand, and connecting with others through a shared love of craft."
If you have ever stitched on a flimsy canvas, you know the frustration of warped grids and snagged threads. Poppy Monk refuses to compromise on the foundation of your art. They exclusively use canvas from Zweigart, a historic German manufacturer that has set the global standard for needlework since 1877.
They believe that quality extends beyond the product to include the people who create it. Designed in-house or by licensed artists, every Poppy Monk kit is conceived as a work of art to be stitched. They are also committed to paying their team a living wage. Purchasing a kit from Poppy Monk means you support a sustainable ecosystem where every member of the team is valued and compensated fairly.
You can stitch with a clear conscience, knowing your project is built on kindness and respect from start to finish.
The Poppy Monk Promise: We exist to bring a little more beauty into the world. By combining archival materials with ethical business practices, we ensure that your needlepoint journey is a joy. You focus on the stitching. We will take care of the rest.
Fair warning: we're beginners too here at Fuzzy Goat. We fell in love with Poppy Monk's canvases and decided to just go for it. If you're new to needlepoint, you're in good company — come figure it out with us.
New to needlepoint like us and need threads:
- Match your canvas colors as best you can — close is fine
- One skein per color is plenty for these small canvases
- Consider using your fingering yarn stash
- 18 count is beginner-friendly — it's a good size to learn on
And it's completely okay to buy a canvas now and gather your threads later. Needlepointers are collectors at heart — your canvas will wait for you.
