Learning the LK150 in real time—focused face and all.
When I was finishing my Harvest Flower Sweater, by Jessie Maed, I already knew what was coming next. All that stockinette had me eyeing our knitting machine — the LK150 — because honestly? I wanted to wear the sweater sooner. And now that I have, it’s been on repeat… a lot.

I decided to bring you along for the ride and share my process as I worked through it on the machine. I took the machine home with me so I could really settle in and capture the process as it happened. That meant no makeup, no contacts, and absolutely no pretending I had everything figured out. Just me, the sweater pieces, and the machine, learning as I went.
This is very much a “do not be afraid” kind of post, and very much not a step-by-step how-to. I’ll get better at filming angles and explaining things as I go, but I didn’t want imperfect skills to stop me from capturing the process while I was in it. There’s a fair amount of “making do” here — which, if you know me, will come as no surprise.
One quick note as you’re watching: once I really get going, it looks like I’m working on the right side of the fabric. What you’re actually seeing is the front of the sweater, while I’m working from the inside of the back. Keep an eye out when I get ready to do the back piece — you’ll what I did there.
And yes… I fully see it now.
That very serious, slightly intense “I’m focusing” face.
You have one too, right?
If nothing else, I hope this gives you permission to try something new, be a beginner again, and let “good enough” be more than enough while you learn.
